Cooking is a culinary art that represents creation when preparing food and meals. It’s highly dependant on culture, as it is based on knowledge of the ingredients, how to prepare them and the social conventions of each particular culture.
Do not confuse it with gastronomy as this art involves a wider field related to the kitchen as well.
There’s a culinary art that relates to each country, culture and region. Nowadays, there’s not only a better understanding and a higher interest for foreign meals but also more flexibility to access them and the way to prepare them. This is due to the globalization, the regular communication among millions of people, the influence of the mass media, and the use of technology for commerce.
However, a huge amount of these recipes and their variations still have their origins in traditional cooking, one developed through the years, with cooking rituals that have been transmitted from one generation to the next one, and so on for long periods of time.
Traditional cooking is mainly a social art, with local and traditional features. Even though that, our modern society has been able to facilitate its preparation and access the necessary raw materials, no matter these are grown miles away. In modern cooking, it is important to maintain this concept of the basic ethnic and cultural origins.

Rice Pudding Serve the rice in the dishes and cover each serving with a small amount of butter. The person who finds the almond, has the right to a present, that you should give right away!
Swiss Shrimps In a frying pan sauté the bacon (no oil) and fry the shrimps, and cover. Once they are almost cooked, add the rest of the ingredients and stir until the cream has melted. Serve with rice and white wine.

Use a medium size saucepan, stir in condensed cream of chicken soup, milk, mushrooms, shredded cheese, pimento, and basil.
Fish First spice the fillets, coat with flour and then fry them. Prepare the sauce by frying the garlic first with the 2 tablespoons of pepper and onion, add salt and pepper. When the mixture is ready, add 1 cup of broth and the glass of white wine.
Meat and Casseroles To prepare the chutney: slice the onion, thin rings and simmer until tender. Add vinegar, and sugar and cook 5 minutes, stir occasionally. Set aside for later. In a saucepan heat some oil, high heat.
Crabs Simmer in a clay pot. Meantime, wash the crabs, and fry them in plenty of oil using a large skillet. Once they are tender, pour into the tomato sauce, add diced ham, salt and diced hot chili. Cook for 15 minutes.
Aphrodisiac Food Sexy Shellfish Sauce - Peel and slice the prawns, thinly. Add the clams and place in a clay pot. Add avocado, mango and pineapple, all diced. Crush the garlic and mint in a mortar.
Canapé Boiled prawns - Cut the eggs in halves, alongside. Spread mayonnaise in each half, put a prawn tail and top it off with an olive. Hold with a toothpick.
Creams Use a saucepan to bring the milk, 4 tablespoons sugar and lemon zest to a boil. Meanwhile use a salad bowl to cream the 8 egg yolks, 2 tablespoons of sugar and the corn starch. Once it is ready take a ladle of milk and pour slowly into the eggs.
Salads Bake the peppers into the oven and peel. Use the food processor to obtain a puree and place them in a pot. Peel the tomatoes, take the seeds and dice, and add to the pot. Then add the ground garlic, coriander, and lemon juice.
Sauces Bring the carrot to a boil, then peel and slice. Blend in the blender and add the rest of the ingredients. If too thick, add some of the water you used to cook it, until you get a cream.
